Add ZIP/UNZIP Permissions for GameServer FTP
This is not about adding a new feature it’s about enabling the proper file permissions so that users can ZIP and UNZIP files/folders directly within the Game Server environment.
Currently, users cannot compress or extract files because the panel does not grant the required permissions. This becomes a problem especially for games like Minecraft, where world folders can be extremely large and downloading them through FTP is slow, unstable, or often fails.
Why This Permission Is Needed
Large Minecraft worlds can be multiple gigabytes, making direct FTP downloads difficult
ZIP compression makes it much faster and more stable to download
Prevents corrupted world files
Allows users to upload large modpacks or backups more easily
Most professional hosting platforms allow ZIP/UNZIP operations via file manager permissions
Benefits to Users
Much easier and safer backup process
Faster downloading and uploading of worlds/modpacks
Reduces FTP timeouts and failed transfers
Greatly helps beginners and experienced admins alike
Benefits to Zap-Hosting
Fewer support tickets about failed FTP downloads
Faster backup workflow

PinnedHey WorkforCoconut,
Thanks for the detailed suggestion about enabling ZIP/UNZIP permissions. I definitely see how that would be super helpful for managing large files like Minecraft worlds.
Unfortunately, we can't enable this feature due to security risks. Allowing server-side compression and decompression opens up the system to potential abuse, such as "zip bombs" (like ZODS), which can crash the host system and affect other users.
While it's a bit slower, using an FTP client to download the files and zip them on your own computer is the safest method for now. We have to prioritize the stability and security of the overall platform.
