Shadow Restore: Test Backups Without Overwriting Live Servers

Restoring a backup currently overwrites the live server, which is risky. Users often want to verify a backup or test fixes before affecting production servers (e.g. FiveM, Minecraft).

You may Add a Shadow Restore (Clone Mode) option that restores a backup into a temporary, separate environment instead of directly overwriting the live server.
The clone can be used to test changes or verify data, then either promoted to production or discarded.

Why it matters

• Prevents accidental downtime

• Makes backups safer to use

• Encourages confident restores and testing

Example
After a failed update, an admin restores a backup into a clone, fixes the issue, confirms stability, and only then restores to production.
