Allow Lifetime Product Upgrades to be Paid with ZAP Coins
Hi ZAP-Hosting team,
I’d like to submit a roadmap request regarding ZAP Coins and Lifetime products.
At the moment it’s not possible to pay for or upgrade Lifetime products using ZAP Coins. I completely understand why purchasing new Lifetime products with Coins might not be allowed (pricing/security/abuse prevention, etc.). However, I think it would be a really useful option to allow upgrades of existing Lifetime products to be paid with ZAP Coins.
Why this would help:
Many customers (including me) have leftover ZAP Coins and don’t have a practical way to use them.
Buying additional rental VPS just to spend Coins isn’t ideal: it increases administrative overhead and leads to “too many small servers” instead of upgrading the one server we actually rely on.
Allowing upgrades keeps customers within the existing product and encourages scaling up responsibly, without creating unnecessary extra infrastructure.
I’d really appreciate it if you could consider this for the roadmap. It would make ZAP Coins much more useful for Lifetime customers while keeping the current restrictions in place.

Thanks a lot for your detailed suggestion — we really appreciate the thought you put into it.
At the moment, we’re in ongoing discussions regarding the overall handling and valuation of ZAP Coins. One of the current limitations is that we cannot reliably differentiate between coins earned for free (e.g., promotions, refunds, bonuses, left over amounts just like what you said) and coins that originate from affiliate balance conversions or gained freely from us. Because of this, all ZAP Coins must follow the same rules.
For that reason, we unfortunately cannot allow ZAP Coins or affiliate-derived balances or left-over coins from other purchases to be used for lifetime products or domain purchases. Allowing this would not only create inconsistencies in how different coin sources are treated but also impact our internal accounting and ledger processes. These transactions would effectively be internal payments that never reach the customer balance in a clean, traceable way, which creates complications on both the financial and compliance side.
While we are looking into separating actual money left over in zap-coins to other methods, until then we won’t be able to fully support this suggestion.
We are working on adding more products that add value to zap-coins that can be used in line with your lifetime products be sure to keep notified of when these changes happen.
